Duties

• Assist with the harvesting of firewood using manual tools and heavy equipment such as chainsaws, log splitters, and forklifts
• Operate farm machinery safely for cutting, stacking, and transporting firewood logs
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment including welding and mechanical troubleshooting
• Handle heavy lifting tasks to move logs and firewood bundles efficiently across the farm
• Support animal husbandry activities if applicable, including animal care and handling to maintain farm operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
• Assist with irrigation systems, greenhouse work, or horticultural tasks as needed to support overall farm health

Requirements

• Proven supervising experience or ability to oversee team tasks efficiently
• Mechanical knowledge with experience repairing farm machinery and power tools
• Hands-on experience with equipment repair, welding, heavy equipment operation, and maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of animal husbandry, animal handling, and basic animal care practices (if relevant)
• Familiarity with farming techniques, horticulture, irrigation systems, and greenhouse operations
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate forklifts or other heavy machinery confidently
• Basic math skills for measurements, inventory tracking, and operational calculations
• Strong work ethic with a focus on safety standards and attention to detail in all tasks
