Plant Accountant

Trademark Recruiting is conducting a search for a well established, yet rapidly growing hi-tech manufacturing company with operations across the U.S. This role will be based at their Baltimore area production facility. This is an excellent opportunity to have ownership of the accounting function for the facility, while also working closely with regional leadership.

Plant Accountant

The Plant Accountant is responsible for supporting all accounting and financial operations at the facility, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, maintaining accurate accounting records, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and GAAP standards. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments.

Reporting directly to the Regional Controller, the Plant Accountant will work closely with the Plant Manager and site leadership team to help drive operational and financial performance.

This is a full-time position based in the greater Baltimore area, with the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week following the training period.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including month-end and year-end closing activities
• Analyze financial results, forecasts, budgets, and operational variances
• Manage billing activities and maintain accounts receivable records
• Assist with accounts payable and payroll support functions
• Provide financial insight and analysis related to capital expenditures and operational initiatives
• Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accuracy of related reporting
• Support operational planning and financial goal development
• Assist with annual audits and tax preparation processes
• Communicate financial information clearly to internal teams and external partners
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
• Support HR-related financial activities such as benefits analysis and employee communications
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Familiarity with ERP and financial reporting systems; experience with Infor Syteline is a plus
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in aerospace, defense, commercial space, or additive manufacturing industries is beneficial
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
