What are the responsibilities and job description for the Creative Project Manager position at Tractorbeam?
Location: Dallas, TX
Type: Contract | Part-Time ~20 hours per week | ~12 week project
Min. Experience: 3-5 years
Tractorbeam creates and grows compelling brands that connect, inspire, and drive real impact. We are a full-service agency helping companies navigate change. Everything we do is rooted in our passion for brands, experiences, and possibilities. Our multidisciplinary team spans four core capabilities: strategy, design, digital products, and digital marketing.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Creative Project Manager for a part-time contract engagement to support our Creative Division through a high-bandwidth period. This is a fully internal-facing role — you won't be managing client relationships, but you will be the operational backbone that keeps creative projects moving from brief to final delivery. Reporting to the Account Director and Director of Creative Operations, you'll live in Wrike and Google Workspace, maintaining the structure and momentum behind every project you touch.
Responsibilities
- Manage engagements from creative brief creation through internal kickoff, resourcing, timeline management, and final deliverable hand-off.
- Create tasks, assign owners, set and update deadlines, and keep project boards up to date across multiple concurrent workstreams in Wrike.
- Develop creative briefs that translate project objectives into clear, actionable direction for internal design and strategy teams.
- Facilitate internal project meetings, capture meticulous notes, and distribute clear action items.
- Attend client presentations to capture the discussion, decisions, and next steps.
- Track time reporting across all assigned projects to support accurate project and billing oversight.
- Gather proof-of-execution (POE) documentation and monthly hours reports to support retainer client billing each cycle.
- Communicate and work closely with Creative Division's Accounts Team.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in project management within a creative agency, marketing, or production environment.
- Direct, hands-on experience with Wrike or similar project management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, each with distinct timelines, teams, and deliverables.
- Experience developing creative briefs for design, brand, or strategy engagements.
- Strong documentation habits — meeting notes, action items, and project records that others can actually act on.
- Proficiency in Google Docs and Google Sheets for day-to-day project tracking and reporting.
