Overview:
TPI Global Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Assistant to join the Supply Chain Planning Team at CMS Energy. This position will support the Inventory Team within the broader supply chain function, focusing on electric commodities to meet the increasing demand in electrical work.
This is a hybrid role based in Michigan, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a leading energy company’s dynamic supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inventory planning and material planning activities for assigned categories (e.g., electric meters, gas meters, wiring, etc.).
- Work with the purchasing team and buyers to ensure timely entry and processing of purchase requisitions.
- Track open orders and maintain visibility of released orders through SAP.
- Monitor and expedite critical materials when necessary to support operational continuity.
- Review demand signals and utilize forecasting tools and configuration options within SAP to manage inventory levels.
- Support material movement coordination, working closely with warehousing and storage teams.
- Communicate with vendors to track incoming purchase orders and manage exceptions.
- Conduct encryption monitoring and address items requiring additional oversight and reporting.
- Participate in supply chain optimization initiatives by leveraging SAP tools and reporting functionalities.
Required Skills & Experience:
- High school diploma required; a relevant associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in a supply chain, inventory, or materials planning role.
- Strong familiarity with SAP and a basic understanding of forecasting techniques within SAP.
- Experience working with warehousing and storage operations.
- Previous exposure to electrical commodities is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in material planning with electric or utility-based commodities.
- Hands-on experience managing open orders, critical materials, and vendor interactions.
- Knowledge of logistics or material movement operations.
