Job Title: Resource Scheduler I
Location: Holly, MI (Hybrid)

Work Arrangement:
- Initial 4 months: Reporting to Saginaw Service Center – Hybrid (4 days onsite, Wednesdays remote)
- Post-training: Assigned to Flint Service Center – Onsite 5 days weekly
- Travel: Required for Friday in-person hand-off meetings and occasional coordination visits
Position Overview:
The Resource Scheduler I supports Gas Distribution Field Operations by coordinating, preparing, and scheduling work orders for field crews. This role ensures all required documentation, materials, permits, resources, and third-party services are secured and organized so construction, maintenance, and customer-requested gas distribution work can be executed safely, efficiently, and on time.
This role requires strong organizational skills, prioritization, communication, and the ability to plan and collaborate across multiple internal departments, municipalities, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, assess, organize, and schedule gas distribution work for field operations.
- Prepare internal and external work orders to meet compliance, due dates, and customer requirements.
- Develop 4-week look-ahead schedules, ensuring all pre-execution coordination is completed.
- Secure required permits, road closures, and municipal approvals; provide required advance notifications.
- Submit Miss Dig tickets and ensure utility marking is completed before field work begins.
- Coordinate with storerooms to verify material and equipment availability.
- Work with third-party vendors (welders, traffic control, etc.) to confirm readiness.
- Create, assemble, and maintain electronic field work packets including permits, maps, job scope, and supporting documents.
- Lead weekly Friday hand-off meetings with field supervisors and gas operations leadership.
- Participate in daily morning and afternoon operations calls.
- Forecast workload, staffing needs, and recommend overtime based on schedule demands, weather, and resource capacity.
- Use I Schedule and SAP to enter, track, and update schedules and work activities.
- Support project close-out, documentation, and compliance reporting.
- Build strong internal and external customer partnerships.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (degree not required)
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities
- Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and work in fast-changing operational environments
- Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in natural gas, utilities, construction, or field operations
- SAP experience
- ISchedule experience (or similar scheduling platforms)
- Prior Miss Dig submission experience
- Background working with permits, municipalities, or work coordination roles
Work Environment & Training:
- 4–6-month structured onboarding with job-specific training plan
