Position Title: Project Manager – EPC / High Voltage Distribution
Location: Hybrid – Jackson, Alma, Grand Rapids, Saginaw, Lansing (Any of these locations)
Duration: 12 months contract
Position Overview
Consumers Energy is seeking a Project Manager / Program Manager to support its High Voltage Distribution (HVD) Project Execution team. This role will manage a portfolio of construction and EPC projects across high-voltage lines and substations throughout Michigan.
The position is heavily focused on project and program management within a construction environment, including coordination of scope, schedule, engineering, design, operations, contractors, and multiple stakeholder groups.
While utility and high-voltage distribution experience is preferred, the hiring manager is open to strong construction Project Managers and Program Managers from transferable industries who have successfully managed complex infrastructure or capital projects.
Focus
The ideal candidate is a construction Project Manager or Program Manager with experience managing a high volume of infrastructure, capital, or EPC projects involving:
Engineering and design coordination
Construction execution
Scope and schedule management
Multiple concurrent projects or work orders
Contractor/EPC coordination
Cross-functional stakeholder management
Utility/high-voltage experience is preferred but not required. Candidates from other construction-intensive or infrastructure-focused industries may be considered if they demonstrate strong, transferable project management experience.
SAP and Primavera P6 are valuable differentiators. PMP certification is preferred but not required.

Candidates may report to a Consumers Energy service center in:
Jackson
Alma
Grand Rapids
Saginaw
Lansing
Work Schedule:
Hybrid schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday onsite
Projects are located throughout Michigan.
Field/site visits are required as needed to help resolve project issues and remove execution barriers.
Team staff meetings are typically held every other month in Lansing or Jackson.
Employees are expected to attend the team’s “Rally Room” in Jackson approximately every other week.
The team generally assigns projects geographically to minimize unnecessary travel.
