Instrument & Control Technician II
Duration: Until March 28th 2027 (with a possibility of extension)
Location: Olive Township, MI (Onsite)
Note – For this role, the client is offering Per Diem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, manuals, and system records.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, repair, and programming of computer-based control systems.
- Work with and maintain PLC-based control systems to ensure reliable plant operations.
- Diagnose and service pneumatic systems and related equipment.
- Monitor plant equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when systems require updating.
- Interpret and work from schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical prints.
- Support maintenance and operation of electrical and mechanical equipment used in electric generating plant systems.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve system efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working in a power plant or industrial process-type environment.
- Strong background in testing, troubleshooting, and programming of computer-based control systems.
- Hands-on experience with PLC control systems.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems.
- Ability to analyze equipment conditions and make recommendations for upgrades or replacements.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and electrical prints.
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment in electric generating plant systems.
- Proficiency in general computer skills and software applications.
- Experience working in an industrial setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Previous experience in the power industry.
- Experience in the paper mills industry or similar industrial environments is highly transferable.
