Summary:
HR and Payroll Specialist provides bi-weekly payroll and supports many of the human resource functions such as Payroll, Recruiting, HRIS, and Benefits Administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processes payroll using ADP and ensures accurate and timely payment of wages, bonuses, final checks, time off, garnishments, and maintains compliance with Oregon tax and labor regulations. Reconcile each payroll and provide to accounting.
- Stays current with payroll and tax changes that affect Toyo Tanso USA employees and the business.
- Corrects any payroll discrepancies timely and by next payroll.
- Assists with recruiting by posting new job openings, scheduling interviews, preparing offer letters, ordering criminal background checks and pre-employment drug screens and clearing new candidates for hire.
- Assists with benefits administration including ensuring benefits enrollments are accurate, inform COBRA provider of newly terminated employees, reconcile monthly benefit bills for payment and ensure enrollment accuracy. Communicate to new hires various Toyo Tanso USA benefits during new hire orientation, open enrollment, and assist employees with benefit questions.
- Maintains accurate employment data in HRIS system, entering new hires, including updating employment information, retrieving, and revising employee files and other employment data.
- Conducts new employee orientation to foster positive culture and assimilation of new employees.
- Create reports for other departments including PTO balances, ERP hours, overtime, and safety compliance.
- Support internal and external audits but gathering documentation.
- Assists with company employee assessment program and schedules 90-day new employee reviews.
- Create employee and payroll files and I-9 storage.
- Ensure end of the year distribution of W-2s and 1095s.
- Reconcile 401k plan on a monthly basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- Associate's degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years’ experience processing payroll with ADP preferred or similar payroll system.
- Strong MS Office skills including Excel Word, and PowerPoint.
- One or more years’ experience in Human Resources.
- Knowledge of Oregon Wage and Hour regulations, including overtime, deductions, and final checks.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
