Role Description:
The Assistant Pool Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all facility patrons. You will support the Pool Manager in overseeing daily operations, supervising a team of lifeguards, and maintaining high standards facility safety. When the Pool Manager is off-site, you are the primary point of contact for staff and guests.
Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision & Leadership
- Assist in scheduling, training, and evaluating the performance of lifeguards and front-desk staff.
- Lead "in-service" training sessions to ensure rescue skills and CPR protocols remain sharp.
- Model professional behavior and enforce facility rules consistently and fairly.
Safety & Risk Management
- Monitor pool decks to ensure lifeguards are vigilant and following proper rotation schedules.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, acting as the Lead Responder when necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs of incidents, rescues, and first-aid treatments.
Facility Maintenance
- Ensure the pool deck, locker rooms, and pump room are clean and organized.
- Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards to the Pool Manager.
Administrative & Guest Relations
- Address guest concerns or complaints with a calm, professional demeanor.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Help coordinate special events, swim lessons, or swim meets.
