The Shrewsbury Public Library is seeking a friendly, tech-savvy, and detail-oriented Library Assistant to join our exceptional team! We are hiring a full-time Library Assistant to serve our patrons at our circulation desk under the general direction of the Library Manager of Access Services.

What You'll Do
- Assist patrons in finding books, using computers, and navigating library services.
- Circulate a variety of materials—books, DVDs, video games, kits, and more. Provide basic technology support for public computers, printers, and scanners.
- Support other staff on ILS functions and maintain software for museum passes
- Keep our collections organized and accessible by shelving and maintaining materials.
- Perform clerical tasks, direct phone calls, and help with general inquiries.
- Be a go-to resource for library policies, while protecting patron confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree and two years of ILS experience required. Any equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Strong customer service and communication skills—you enjoy helping others and can do so with empathy and clarity.
- Comfortable using computers, software applications (like Microsoft Office), and electronic databases.
- Familiar with the Dewey Decimal System, basic research skills, and e-resources.
- Reliable, independent, and ready to contribute to a collaborative team.
