What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer (DPW - Facilities) position at Town of Penfield?
The Town of Penfield is in need of a motivated and independent full-time Laborer in our Department of Public Works -Facilities Division.
Work Hours: Wednesday - Sunday 7:00am - 11:00pm
Typical work duties include but are not limited to: cleaning including garbage removal, stocking facilities, securing Town properties, basic minor repairs (electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing etc.), room set-up and break-down, snow removal (shovel and blower), painting and various janitorial maintenance tasks.
Qualified candidates must be able to successfully operate hand and power tools, power extractor and floor buffing equipment and be capable of lifting, pushing and pulling loads up to 50 lbs.
Full Performance Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics: Good knowledge of the use of hand tools; working knowledge of ground maintenance activities; working knowledge of building cleaning methods; working knowledge of specific hazards and safety precautions; ability to do heavy manual labor, including lifting; ability to follow instructions; ability to work under direct supervision; ability to establish good working relationships with others; ability to work under all weather conditions; manual dexterity; endurance; dependability; honesty; health and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Valid NYS Driver License is required. NYS Commercial Driver License is preferred.

Pay: $23.66 per hour
