Inclusion Aide
Concord Recreation seeks experienced, patient, and knowledgeable individuals to serve as inclusion aides for campers with physical, developmental, and emotional disabilities at Camp Three Rivers. Aides will assist campers in bridging the social gaps between children with and without disabilities, actively facilitating friendships and assuring successful participation in all camp activities. Additionally, aides will work with the Inclusion Program Director, general summer staff, and parents to create child-specific success plans. Aides will work with different campers on a daily basis depending on the activities and the level of assistance required. This position will be supported by the Inclusion Program Director, Assistant Recreation Director and Camp Director and will be working collaboratively with an additional Inclusion Aide.
Pay range: $18.00 - $30.00/hour; starting pay based on qualifications. This is an hourly, part-time position*, consisting of up to 37.5 hours per week.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30AM-4:00PM
Program Date: June 16 - August 15, 2025
Training Dates: June 5 & 6, 2025 @5:30pm – 8:30pm,
June 7, 2025 @8:30am – 4:00pm,
June 18, 2025 @4:15pm – 5:15p
July 2, 2025 @4:15pm-5:15pm

GENERAL SUMMARY
Inclusion aides assists campers with physical, developmental, and emotional disabilities at summer camp to assure successful participation in all camp activities. Additionally, Aides work with the Recreation Therapist, general summer staff, and parents to create child-specific success plans. Aides work with different campers on a daily basis depending on the activities and the level of assistance required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who are or become disabled as defined under the Americans With Disabilities Act, must be able to perform the essential job functions (as listed) either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on a case by case basis.
Work with campers grades K-6 with disabilities, in an outdoor day camp setting.- Serves as a member of the inclusion team that proactively ensures all camp activities are accessible.
- Provide daily support to one or multiple campers with disabilities including activities of daily living including eating, changing clothing, using the bathroom, etc.
- Actively participate in camp activities including swimming, sports, art, field trips and more.
- Problem solve behaviors, social struggles, and other individualized needs with support of Camp Director and Inclusion Director
- Utilize visual schedules, communication boards, positive behavior plans and other child specific plans throughout the day.
- Consistently communicate with counselors, instructors, and parents regarding camper’s daily experiences.
- Enforce rules, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety of all children.
- Build relationships with campers to foster friendly, supportive and nurturing group dynamics.
- Act as a social role model for all children and staff at camp.
- Exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity.
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree (or pursuit of a degree) in the fields of Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Recreation or similar fields, preferred.
- Experience working directly with children with disabilities required.
Special Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- CPR and first aid certified (certification available during staff training).
- CPI or equivalent certification in de-escalation and crisis prevention techniques, preferred.
- Must be available for the entire camp season.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed primarily outdoors during the summer months. May be subjected to moderate variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc. Work may be performed indoors in a relatively noisy work environment, with constant interruptions. Frequently subjected to the demands of other individuals and the volume and /or rapidity with which tasks must be accomplished.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Balancing, crouching, grasping, pulling, reaching and stooping may also be required.
