Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. We are currently offering a $1000 sign on bonus. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, comfort, and dignity, with the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and complex medical needs. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks is preferred. The CNA will play a vital role in supporting clinical staff and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through attentive care and accurate documentation.
Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation in medical records.
- Provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care needs, or behavioral health conditions.
- Maintain infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other medical procedures as directed by nursing staff.
- Support patients during transfers and ambulation using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Document patient interactions thoroughly in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, hospice care, or post-acute settings to ensure comprehensive patient support.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-discharge care plans when applicable.
Experience
- Prior experience working in hospitals (Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Experience with specialized populations such as pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics, behavioral health patients, or individuals with disabilities enhances candidacy.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy & physiology knowledge, and basic life support certification is required.
- Proven ability to operate EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is preferred.
- Experience in infection control practices including aseptic technique and working within acute or sub-acute care settings is advantageous.
- Demonstrated caregiving skills for patients requiring complex interventions such as IV therapy or ventilator support is a plus.
