Our Accounting Team is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated entry level Accounts Payable Specialist to support recording and processing accurate and timely processing of expenses and vendor payments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity by managing high volume invoice verification, data entry and vendor account reconciliation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills and collaborates effectively with internal teams including the Accounting Supervisor and the Financial Analyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify vendor invoices through an intelligent data capture system for paperless processing
- Reconcile vendor statements and ensure all payable balances are properly accounted for in the system
- Learn and analyze the workflow processes in which all invoices are recorded and segregated based on their payment type
- Maintain proper internal control measures as it pertains to the disbursements of check, EFT, and credit card payments.
- Assist with the vendor set up process, the collections of W-9 forms and the distributions of IRS 1099 forms
- Assist with audit preparations and requests as they arise.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- 2 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience preferred
- Strong computer proficiency: advanced Excel skills required
- Critical Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and a high degree of integrity
