Survey Crew Chief - Raleigh/Charlotte
Tower Engineering Professionals is seeking a full-time Survey Crew Chief in our Survey department. As a Crew Chief you will serve as an integral member of our Survey team. We have openings for full-time Survey Crew Chiefs in our Raleigh, NC and Charlotte, NC offices. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel and work out of town for short periods (day trips, overnight trips within NC) of time occasionally. Candidate should have the following skills and requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities-
- 4 years survey experience
- Familiar with survey equipment (robotics and GPS) and procedures
- Self-motivated and organized
- Team player
- Good communication and technical skills
- Familiar with data collection software
- Familiar with CAD drawings
- Clean driving record
Essential Functions-
- Supervise field crew to ensure safety and efficiency of work completed
- Work independently to complete field work as needed
- Train new field technicians on survey techniques and TEP standards
- Understand scope of survey work and execute field procedures to complete field tasks
- Efficiently operates survey instruments, including electronic total station, digital level, GPS equipment, robotics, 3D laser scanner, and data collectors
- Read and interpret deeds, plats, plans and specifications
- Operate and maintain a variety of survey equipment in safe and efficient manner
- Sets priorities and meets deadlines of each project and/or job
- Maintain files of maps, documents and other records as needed
Work Environment/Physical Demands-
- Outdoor work (may stand for long periods, walk long distances, occasionally in non-ideal weather)
- Willing to travel – day trips, overnight trips, occasional extended trips (2-3 days/week)
- Some project sites may require long drives to reach
- Occasionally required to lift and/or carry 50 pounds or less
