Postion Summary
Tougaloo College invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support an NSF-funded Implementation Project (Award #2510537). This project examines the effectiveness of evidence-based interventions designed to improve student success in STEM within the HBCU context. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct rigorous research aligned with project strategies, contributing to the evaluation of intervention outcomes and the dissemination of findings. The Fellow will receive mentorship in grant writing, publishing, and career advancement, with opportunities to develop independent research projects. Appointment: Full-time, 12-month position, renewable annually based on performance and funding availability, for up to four years.
Duties
Design and implement research studies aligned with project interventions.
Conduct qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods data collection and analysis.
Evaluate program effectiveness and student outcomes.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and project stakeholders.
Assist PI with coordinating program activities, preparing technical reports, manuscripts, presentations, grant reporting, and dissemination activities.
Support student engagement in research, as appropriate
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ph.D. awarded within the past five (5) years in social sciences, education, STEM education, or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience in research design and data analysis. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preference is given to candidates with a) experience in program evaluation or intervention-based research, b) knowledge of STEM education and student success initiatives, c) experience working with HBCUs/minority-serving institutions/underrepresented populations, or d) record of scholarly publications and/or presentations.
