About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Production Lead to oversee daily bakery production operations. In this hands-on leadership role, you will manage our baking or packaging teams, ensure consistent high-quality output, maintain food safety standards, and drive efficiency in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of mixing or packaging staff
- Oversee daily production schedules
- Monitor product quality, taste, appearance, and consistency across all items (bread, bagels, cookies, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP regulations
- Train new team members on techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures
- Manage inventory of raw materials, ingredients, and finished goods
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement process improvements to reduce waste and increase efficiency
- Maintain accurate production records, logs, and reports
- Enforce company policies and maintain a positive, safety-first work culture
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in production, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques and commercial bakery equipment is a plus
- Solid understanding of food safety standards (ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred)
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work early morning hours, weekends, and holidays as required
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a warm kitchen environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or baking degree/certification is a plus
