Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, independent Full Charge Bookkeeper / Controller to handle all accounting operations across our multiple entities. This is a hands-on role in an entrepreneurial environment ideal for an advanced professional who can hit the ground running without training or supervision. You'll handle day-to-day bookkeeping while providing higher-level oversight, system improvements, and financial insights. This position is not remote.
Responsibilities
- o Manage full-cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks for 4 entities under Touchstone Electric, plus our other smaller passive businesses (small transaction quantity).
o Perform all bank, credit card, and account reconciliations; troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies.
o Handle accounts receivable (A/R): Collections, aging reports, and customer payment tracking.
o Manage accounts payable (A/P): Vendor bills, payments, 1099 preparation, and expense tracking.
o Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow). Monthly financials must be completed by the 15th of the month at the latest.
o Develop, document, and implement accounting protocols, systems, and internal controls for efficiency and compliance. Should we prepared to hire supporting help at any time.
o Assist with payroll processing
o Manage inter-entity transactions and consolidations as needed.
o Yearly deadlines met (1099s issued by January 15, Year-end close January 25, Tax package to CPA February 15, K1s to owners after CPA completes Tax Returns, Sales Tax Filings)
o Vendor onboarding (W9, COI, etc)
o Workers Comp Audits
Requirements
- o 5 years of progressive bookkeeping/accounting experience, with preferred experience in full-charge or controller-level role and multi-entity small businesses
o Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks, including multi-entity setup, customization, and advanced reporting.
o Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
o Preferred:
§ Experience with real estate accounting (e.g., property management, depreciation, leases) is a strong plus.
§ Developed the systems for a growing business
§ Managed 1 people in a bookkeeping role (we’re growing and will likely need to hire an additional person next year under you)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $83,200.00 per year
