Position Overview

The Equipment and Fleet Manager is responsible for managing all farm equipment assets across TopFlavor Farms’ Central Coast and Desert divisions. This role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively across multiple growing regions.


The Equipment and Fleet Manager will oversee the lifecycle and deployment of all machinery including tractors, trucks, implements, and attachments while working closely with ranch managers, mechanics, and operations leadership in both regions. This role will monitor equipment utilization, maintenance programs, operational efficiencies, and capital planning to support the evolving needs of our farming operations.


Key Responsibilities

 

Fleet Oversight & Regional Coordination

  • Manage the full equipment fleet across TopFlavor Farms’ Central Coast and Desert divisions, ensuring proper allocation and availability between regions.
  • Oversee all equipment including tractors, trucks, implements, attachments and specialized agricultural machinery.
  • Coordinate equipment movement and deployment across ranches to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment utilization, downtime, and performance metrics across all locations.

 

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs across both operating regions.
  • Coordinate repairs with supervisors and service providers to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained according to manufacturer guidelines and internal operational standards.

 

Financial Management

  • Track and analyze equipment costs including repairs, fuel usage, depreciation, and replacement planning.
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment assets, depreciation schedules, and lifecycle costs.
  • Support annual equipment budgeting and capital expenditure planning.


Inventory & Asset Tracking

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all equipment, implements, attachments, and related assets.
  • Implement systems to track equipment location, hours, and availability across regions.
  • Evaluate new technologies that improve equipment tracking and fleet visibility.

 

Technology & Innovation

  • Implement and manage fleet management tools and technologies to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity through equipment optimization and new technologies.


Qualifications

  • 5 years experience managing agricultural equipment or fleet operations.
  • Experience working across multiple farming regions or large-scale agricultural operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of farm machinery, preventative maintenance programs, and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Experience with fleet management software, telematics, or equipment tracking systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to monitor utilization, cost efficiency, and equipment performance.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
