Service Manager - Fleet Maintenance

The Service Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Fleet Maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• ·      Supervise activities of the department and staff during daily operations.
• ·      Schedule repairs and maintenance on all company vehicles and equipment.
• ·      Develop, implement, and monitor department budget.
• ·      Appropriately balance in-house repairs vs. outsourced vendor services.
• ·      Manage vehicle lifecycle from acquisition through disposal.
• ·      Comply with all PBC Safety and Health policies and procedures.
• ·      Hire, schedule, review payroll and approve overtime.
• ·      Conduct performance reviews and evaluations of staff.
• ·      Assist with special projects and special events – preparation, set-up, tear down, material storage, etc.
• ·      Responsible for all departmental tools, equipment and vehicles.
• ·      Coordinate and lead departmental staff meetings.
• ·      Maintain accurate inventory of all PBC rolling stock, as well as service and repair records for same.
• ·      Responsible for ensuring that professional quality paint and body work is performed at Fleet Maintenance.
• ·      Implement and maintain vehicle and equipment training programs and safe operation of all PBC rolling stock.
• ·      Responsible for licensing all PBC owned licensed vehicles and for the fulfillment of other DMV requirements.
• ·      Maintain good working relationships with all vendors, and all other internal departments.
• ·      Maintain adequate levels of fuels for the Corporate Yard pumps and keep accurate fuel use records.
• ·      Keep track of work orders received to ensure the timely completion of work.
• ·      Approve and code vendor invoices in a timely manner.
• ·      Conduct driver training for newly hired personnel who will operate company equipment.
• ·      Maintain a presentable appearance and courteous manner, projecting a positive attitude to other departments.
• ·      Maintain good housekeeping standards.
• ·      Any other duties requested by your supervisor.

Required Skills: 

• Supervisory and mechanical skills required.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to the elements and to work on rough terrain. 
• Ability to use good judgment and communicate in a courteous manner with Forest residents, the public and other PBC departments.
• California driver's license with less than 2 points. 

Desired Skills:

• Experience with computer programs, hardware & software. 
• Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a maintenance facility and 2 years performing preventive maintenance and repairs on licensed vehicles and/or golf course equipment.
