Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile part-time Cannabis Operations Floater to join our team! This energetic role is perfect for someone passionate about horticulture, agriculture, and cannabis cultivation. As a Floater, you will support various operational tasks across different areas of our cultivation facility, ensuring smooth daily functions and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This position offers a flexible schedule, valuable hands-on experience, and the opportunity to grow within a vibrant industry. Duties
- Assist with irrigation setup, management, cleaning, and troubleshooting of irrigation systems to ensure optimal water delivery for crops
- Support cultivation activities, including planting, transplanting, pruning, and garden trimming
- Implement and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to crop production, pest control, and environmental controls
- Help manage integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to protect plants from pests and diseases using safe and effective methods
- Operate hand tools and mechanical equipment safely for crop maintenance
- Conduct plant identification to monitor crop health and identify pests or deficiencies early
- Assist with crop pest management, plant pest control measures, and maintaining healthy growth environments in greenhouses or outdoor settings
- Support irrigation management by inspecting systems regularly for leaks or blockages and making adjustments as needed
- Perform heavy lifting tasks related to soil amendments, plant containers, or equipment transport as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to ensure safety compliance and efficient workflow
- Assist with harvesting and post-harvest assignments when needed as well
Skills
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, agricultural environmental control systems, and greenhouse cultivation techniques
- Growing experience in cannabis or other horticultural crops with an understanding of crop production cycles
- Familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOPs), crop pest management protocols, and integrated pest management (IPM) practices
- Ability to operate hand tools, mechanical equipment, and basic gardening machinery safely and effectively
- Basic math skills for measurements related to irrigation scheduling or nutrient calculations
- Excellent plant identification skills to detect pests, diseases, or deficiencies early on
- Work experience in farming, landscaping, or gardening environments with physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods will be a plus
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to listen to the master grower's directives during shifts or busy periods and communicate clearly
- Mechanical knowledge related to irrigation systems or environmental controls is a plus
