Summary
The Plant Manager will be responsible for building a legacy of operational excellence, developing a culture of trust and high performance, and helping us scale our impact in the medical device industry.
Key Activities
- Responsible for managing, developing, and directing all plant operations, including manufacturing engineering, facility management, and manufacturing.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with safety rules, SOPs in accordance with all company and outside regulatory policies and rules.
- Supports succession planning and maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Identifies and develops personal growth opportunities for all key team players.
- Provides operations expertise and representation on cross-functional business team.
- Directs manufacturing staff; communicates job expectations; plans, monitors, and appraises job results; coaches and counsels; initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
- Assesses plant performance via a comprehensive set of key performance indicators. Tracks productivity and performance for all lines while meeting and exceeding efficiency standards.
- Maintains operating costs within budget.
- Identifies asset reconfiguration needs, creates and executes action plans to ensure consistent, reliable plant performance.
- Identifies and eliminates bottlenecks to ensure continuous improvement, creating flexibility, agility, and pursuing the lowest landed cost improvement.
- Ensures the operation of equipment by ensuring proper maintenance, evaluating new equipment, and implementing effective techniques.
- Ensures the manufacturing operations comply with safety, quality, and GMP requirements.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment, supporting the safety and risk management process.
- Cooperates with the Quality departments to ensure compliance with all quality SOPs, maintaining audit-ready status.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent problem-solving, and reasoning skills required. Continuous Improvement leadership / Six Sigma Black belt preferred.
- Ability to analyze downtime and financial variance trends, identifying actions to deliver expected performance.
Educations & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university, preferably a B.S. in Engineering, Packaging, or Management.
- 10 or more years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous Experience in supervision of teams, managing manufacturing processes, tracking budget expenses, production planning, strategic planning, dealing with complexity, financial planning and strategy in food manufacturing.
