We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Installation Technician who is focused, self-reliant, and capable of handling complex low voltage installations with minimal oversight. This individual will be responsible for end-to-end installation, programming, testing, and maintenance of physical security systems—including access control, alarms, video surveillance, and more—across commercial and government sites.
Ideal candidates have strong technical backgrounds, industry certifications, and the ability to lead installations, troubleshoot efficiently, and interface directly with clients to ensure satisfaction and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full installation, programming, testing, and final acceptance of security systems and devices.
- Interpret and follow schematics, blueprints, and electrical layout plans to install and configure systems accurately.
- Install and troubleshoot alarms, access control, CCTV, intercom, and low voltage devices with minimal supervision.
- Establish and implement effective troubleshooting and repair procedures.
- Conduct system commissioning and perform customer walk-throughs at completion.
- Prepare and execute MOPs (Method of Procedure) and JIMs (Job Information Memos).
- Lead final inspections, provide customer training, and ensure all documentation is completed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, internal teams, and supervisors to resolve technical issues and coordinate installations.
- Maintain a clean driving record, ensure job site safety, and adhere to all company safety policies.
- Travel as needed for project deployments.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2–5 years experience installing and programming low voltage physical security systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military equivalent in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Strong understanding of IP-based systems, device addressing, and system integration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.).
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
- Clean background check and valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long hours, and work in construction or industrial environments.
Certifications:
Must be certified in at least one of the following:
- Software House
- Lenel S2
- Avigilon
- Axis
- Genetec
- Bosch (alarms, access control)
- Crestron
- Cisco
- QSC
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work may occur in active construction sites, secure facilities, or government buildings.
- Frequent ladder use, crawl spaces, overhead installs, and confined area work.
- Travel up to 20% depending on project location and scope.
