Job Title: Security Service Technician
Job Description:
The Security Service Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarm systems. This role involves responding to scheduled maintenance and emergency service calls, completing system repairs, upgrades, and minor installations as needed. The technician will interact directly with customers and must be able to diagnose, repair, and resolve system issues both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls, diagnosing and resolving system issues
- Troubleshoot and repair access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and system checks for installed equipment
- Support minor system upgrades and installations as needed
- Provide technical assistance and support during customer service calls
- Accurately document service performed and update system records
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and local/state/federal regulations
- Coordinate with other technicians and specialists on cross-trained accounts
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience servicing, programming, and integrating access control systems
- Solid knowledge of security systems including:
- CCTV: Genetec, Avigilon, Exacqvision, Milestone
- Access Control: AMAG, Lenel, Genetec, Software House CCURE, Lenel S2
- Intrusion: DMP, Bosch, Honeywell
- Experience using hand and power tools for system repair and installation
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and programming skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with field service in commercial security environments
