The Opportunity
We are seeking a Fractional Accounting Manager to manage our day-to-day accounting and payroll processes and to serve as the primary point of coordination with our CPA. This is a very part-time, ongoing role best suited for a seasoned accounting professional who is efficient, independent, and experienced in supporting small, owner-operated businesses.
This role is focused on oversight and accuracy, not volume or busywork.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Fractional Accounting Manager to manage our day-to-day accounting and payroll processes and to serve as the primary point of coordination with our CPA. This is a very part-time, ongoing role best suited for a seasoned accounting professional who is efficient, independent, and experienced in supporting small, owner-operated businesses.
This role is focused on oversight and accuracy, not volume or busywork.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain QuickBooks Online.
- Categorize and reconcile transactions monthly.
- Run and oversee payroll (employees and/or contractors).
- Manage payroll tax filings and related compliance.
- Track owner draws, reimbursements, and distributions.
- Maintain a clean, logical Chart of Accounts.
- Prepare CPA-ready financials, including:
- Profit & Loss
- Balance Sheet
- General Ledger
- Coordinate directly with our CPA for:
- Business tax filings
- Personal tax documentation related to ownership
- Identify discrepancies, risks, or process improvements.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
- 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting for small businesses.
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks Online.
- Comfortable managing payroll and payroll compliance.
- Experienced working directly with CPAs and tax preparers.
- Highly detail-oriented and process-driven.
- Trustworthy, discreet, and reliable.
- Able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Schedule: Flexible
- Location: Remote
- Compensation: Competitive hourly or monthly retainer
- Status: Contract / 1099 preferred
