Job summary
Responsible for functional areas of the accounting department while ensuring accuracy, consistency and the integrity of the accounting department.
Summary of essential job functions
- Immediately greet all customers and ensure extraordinary customer service.
- Reviews and implements general accounting systems and procedures
- Compiles reports on cash receipts, expenditures and other financial reports
- May direct the work of a part time lower level clerk in a lead capacity only
- Maintains complete records, cash books, daily journals and ledgers to document financial transactions.
- Examines and verifies data, distributes and posts same to proper accounts.
- Prepares bank deposits, disbursement vouchers, customer’s statements, payroll checks, etc.
- Prepares preliminary data and assists with major audits.
- Generates accounting reports on a daily, monthly and yearly basis.
- Adheres to and ensures compliance with established accounting processes and procedures
- Performs all A/P and A/R functions utilizing company software ( Sage 100)
- Assists Controller in preparation of company financials and tax reporting.
- Maintains and generates required financial and operational reports and spreadsheets.
- Prepares and understands all reports and graphs.
- Performs all duties with minimal supervision.
- Able to prepare sales tax returns.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating all accounting data accurately.
- Perform collection responsibilities as needed
- Verify and prepare bank deposits for all locations.
- Weekend work may be required.
- Additional administrative duties including ordering office supplies, change orders, fostering vendor relationships, etc……
- Complete specials projects and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask and use organizational skills - Proficient computer skills using Word, Excel and Sage 100
- 5 plus years of previous accounting experience preferred.
Salary : $22 - $27
