What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Repair Tech position at Tony s Market?
Job Purpose
As a Tony’s Maintenance and Repair Worker you will perform general repairs throughout all markets and facilities.
Detailed Tasks and Activities
- Performs general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and supermarket refrigeration repairs to the facility’s hot line.
- General maintenance
- Basic construction repairs (i.e.. changing outlets, fix pipes, dry wall, tile, light fixtures, etc.)
- Knowledge of refrigeration repairs is highly preferred
- Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
- Consults blueprints or building plans to identify best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues.
- Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems continue operating properly.
- Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must have a valid driver license
- Knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and supermarket refrigeration hotline equipment repairs.
- Refrigeration knowledge preferred
- Heating and ventilation preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in related field preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Can stand for up to 8-10 hours
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.
