We are a fast-growing, multi-entity luxury design-build and real estate firm based in Wilmington, NC, expanding into Raleigh and Florida. We are looking for a strong Controller to build and lead our accounting function as we scale.
This is not a bookkeeping role.
This is not a corporate back-office job.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands construction accounting, thrives on discipline, and wants to grow into a future CFO seat.
- Monthly close (10-day target)
- Construction WIP schedules & percentage-of-completion accounting
- Multi-entity consolidation
- Cash flow forecasting
- Job cost accuracy and margin visibility
- Oversight of AP/AR and accounting staff
- Internal controls and systems improvement
You will work directly with ownership and the COO. You will have authority. You will be expected to teach, manage, and elevate the financial rigor of the company.
- 7 years accounting experience (construction preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and WIP
- Experience in multi-entity environments
- Confident communicator who can work with project managers and leadership
- CPA preferred but not required
