Purpose of the Position: The Template Architect plays a key role in delivering accurate and efficient EDI solutions by designing and maintaining templates that enable seamless data exchange between McLeod systems and customer trading partners. This position supports business success by ensuring timely, high-quality configurations and collaborating across teams to resolve issues and meet customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build EDI templates according trading partner specifications.
- Work with Coordinators to make necessary template adjustments.
- Act as template consultant for internal and external resources.
- Collaborate with developers when needed to resolve template issues.
- Provide ballparks for template modifications.
- Make necessary template modifications.
- Provide EDI Template Editor consultant services.
- Provide excellent Operations support both internally and externally.
- Work with ARMs and EMs to ensure reported issues have been resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide professional and informative communications to Customer and key resources within McLeod.
- On time delivery of In-Flight projects.
- Responsive support and communications when investigating or troubleshooting issues.
- Work in collaboration with team mates to ensure delivery of excellent customer service.
- Work request/project task to completion and close out tasks.
- Ensure work order Comments are updated with all updates, progress and resolution.
- Verify that planned start and finish dates on each task are observed.
- All comments and time entries should use correct spelling and punctuation, complete sentences, and professional language as they appear on customer billing and reports.
- Actively participate in team meetings.
- Provide, assist with, maintain living EDI documents: Best practices, Checklists, Manuals, How to’s.
- Encourage and participate in open collaborative team environment: Share best practices, Willful cross-training, Share lessons learned.
- Assist with running Upgrade Utility in relation to customer DEV environment upgrade preparation.
- Occasional travel to train customers onsite.
- May train customers and business prospects at the Annual Users Conference.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 4 years of Template Architecture experience, required, or Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum 8 years EDI and Template Architecture experience
- Experience training customers or end users in the use of EDI Template Editor, preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Ability to create, and modify, EDI transaction templates, required.
- Experience reading and interpreting EDI Raw Data, required.
- Experience with WinDiff or other comparison programs supporting ASCII text files, required.
