Responsibilities

  • Lead food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and presentation expectations
  • Develop and plan menus that balance creativity with customer preferences, dietary needs, and seasonal ingredients
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing training on food handling, knife skills, and food safety protocols
  • Oversee food safety practices in compliance with health regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Coordinate catering events and special meal services, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional quality
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor stock to minimize waste while maintaining freshness
  • Maintain high standards of food industry best practices, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures

Experience

  • Proven culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining environments or upscale restaurants
  • Extensive kitchen experience with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation
  • Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly desirable for understanding special dietary requirements
  • Skilled in menu planning with an eye for detail and creativity to enhance guest satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of food service excellence
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and certifications related to food handling and sanitation
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods are essential for this role
