We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Rental Assistant to join our property management team. In this energetic role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective tenants and current residents, ensuring a seamless leasing experience. Your proactive approach will help facilitate property rentals, maintain tenant relationships, and support administrative functions essential to our property management operations. Responsibilities
- Assist prospective tenants with inquiries, property tours, and application processes, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage lease or rental agreement documentation accurately using property management software such as Appfolio, Yardi or OneSite.
- Coordinate with landlords and tenants to ensure compliance with lease terms, including Section 8 and LIHTC regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date records of tenant files, rent payments, and maintenance requests through efficient data entry and filing systems.
- Support lease renewals, rent collection, and late payment follow-ups while upholding Fair Housing regulations.
- Handle customer service interactions professionally via phone, email, and in person, resolving conflicts swiftly and effectively.
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and facilities management tasks as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience with property management software such as Appfolio, Yardi, Etc.
- Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and lease or rental agreement management.
- Background in real estate administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and contract management.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and conflict management abilities.
- Familiarity with Section 8 housing programs, LIHTC compliance, and facilities management practices.
- Ability to negotiate lease terms and upsell additional services or amenities to prospective tenants.
- Office experience supporting administrative functions such as filing, data entry, and customer relationship management systems.
