Role Overview
Terra Nova Technologies (TNT), a subsidiary of Cementation, USA, based near San Diego, designs, supplies, delivers and installs material handling systems for mining and mineral processing, coal, aggregate and cement clients throughout the world. Our experience includes delivery of mobile stacking system, crushing plant, and conveyor (stockpile, overland, in-pit, and in-plant) projects in 15 countries on 6 continents. We currently hold about 80% of the world market in the manufacture and installation of multiple-lift heap leach stacking systems.
TNT currently has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Designer. Reporting to the Design Manager, this position can be located in our Santee, CA or Boise, ID office. This role has overall responsibility for providing Structural Design Services on a variety of projects. Key Responsibilities
- Providing structural design, 3D modeling and drafting support for the construction of portable, semi-mobile and fixed plant crushing and conveying systems
- Preparing models and drawings for structural steel and reinforced concrete, using AutoCAD and/or Advance Steel
- Review of shop detail fabrication drawings
- Reviewing project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation against project standards and specifications
- Coordinating and working with multi-discipline project team members
Role Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Design Technology, or similar
- More than 8 years of experience in the design of material handling projects in the mining industry with an emphasis on:
- Estimating and Scheduling
- Plant layout, design of conveyors, crushers, and feeders
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or 3D design/drafting software
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, for varying durations and at times to remote locations
