We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and support electrical design and implementation for mission-critical data center projects. This role requires deep expertise in electrical systems for large-scale facilities, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power distribution, redundancy systems, and integration of advanced electrical infrastructure for high-availability environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering:
- Develop and review electrical system designs for data centers, including power distribution, UPS systems, generators, and switchgear.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards.
- Project Leadership:
- Serve as the technical lead for electrical engineering aspects of data center projects.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, controls) to ensure seamless integration.
- Reliability & Redundancy:
- Implement Tier-level design principles (Tier III/Tier IV) for redundancy and uptime.
- Evaluate and optimize electrical infrastructure for scalability and energy efficiency.
- Construction & Commissioning:
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Provide technical support during construction and resolve field issues promptly.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and electrical standards throughout project lifecycle.
- Prepare documentation for regulatory approvals and inspections.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in data center design and operations.
- Proven track record in high-availability electrical systems, UPS, generators, and power distribution.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and arc-flash studies.
- Familiarity with SCADA, BMS, and monitoring systems for data centers.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical modeling software.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- PE License (Professional Engineer).
- Data Center Design certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI).
