We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and support mechanical design and implementation for mission‑critical data center projects. This role requires deep expertise in large‑scale mechanical systems that support high‑availability facilities, ensuring reliability, efficiency, scalability, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with cooling systems, redundancy strategies, and integration of advanced mechanical infrastructure in critical environments.
Key responsabilties
- Lead the design, review, and implementation of mechanical systems for mission‑critical data centers, including cooling, heat rejection, and environmental control systems.
- Define system architectures that support high‑density, high‑availability environments with a focus on reliability, scalability, and energy efficiency.
- Serve as the mechanical engineering subject‑matter expert, providing technical leadership throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, civil, controls, and commissioning teams to ensure fully integrated and coordinated facility designs.
- Apply Tier III / Tier IV design principles to achieve redundancy, resilience, and concurrent maintainability across mechanical systems.
- Support capacity planning and future expansion strategies through flexible and modular mechanical system designs.
- Review construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and change requests to ensure compliance with design intent and industry standards.
- Provide on‑site and remote support during installation, testing, and commissioning to quickly resolve mechanical issues and maintain project schedules.
- Participate in integrated systems testing (IST) and support final system turnover to operations teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and deliverables required for inspections, audits, and regulatory approvals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Proven experience with large‑scale cooling systems, redundancy strategies, and high‑availability environments.
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidelines for data centers.
- Familiarity with BMS, controls integration, and monitoring of mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical modeling or simulation tools.
