We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on contributing to new product development as well as improving and refining existing products. The ideal candidate has a solid mechanical foundation, strong design skills, and the ability to take projects from concept through design, prototyping, validation, and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and contribute to the full product development lifecycle, including concept development, detailed design, prototyping, testing, validation, and transition to production.
- Create clear and accurate sketches, 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Develop and maintain product documentation, including part drawings, assemblies, Bills of Materials (BOMs), tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability targets.
- Assist in managing project schedules, deliverables, and engineering tasks to support timely product launches.
- Work closely with manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to support production readiness and resolve design-related issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by refining designs to improve reliability, reduce cost, and incorporate feedback from testing or the field.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Typically 3–6 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks in 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
- Experience designing injection-molded parts, sheet metal, or machined components for production.
- Working knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, tolerancing, GD&T, and design-for-manufacturability.
- Exposure to FEA or other analysis tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute effectively to several projects simultaneously.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
