What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Lathe Operator/Setup Person 2nd Shift position at TMA?
Avers Machine and Gear, a TMA Member company, is seeking a Lathe Operator to add to our team in Schiller Park, IL. Avers Machine is a growing precision manufacturing company located in the NW Suburbs (near O'hare Airport) in Schiller Park, IL.
The CNC Lathe Operator will be responsible for in process inspection, and running of small to medium batch production jobs. The ideal candidate will be team oriented with a good attitude. Candidate should have strong inspection skills. Abilities to include but not be limited to reading micrometers, verniers, bore gages, height gages, etc. and using findings to make offsets in machine to run parts per print specifications.
2nd shift positions available
Our Operators work 10 hour shifts M-F
Responsibilities:
- Operate Lathes
- Work well in team environment
- Operate, load/unload material, indicate vices/fixtures, and deburr, set workholding.
- Inspect and verify conformance to specifications, high blueprint reading ability
- Change tools in machine and recalibrate new tool to produce parts per print.
Requirements:
- CNC operating experience required, Set-Up experience preferred (Wage based on experience)
- Mastery of setting up fixtures, tooling, vices, and clamps
- Operates machines running complex and high tolerance components
- Follows all safety and work rules and practices
- Strong work ethic and highly motivated
- Meticulous attention to detail and well organized
- Strong verbal communication skills, team oriented
- Excellent mathematic knowledge including multiplication, division, fractions.
- Independent and willing to take initiative
- Able to work in a fast-paced constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and occasional long hours
- Bilingual in English and/or Spanish and Polish a plus, not required
Salary : $22 - $35
