The candidate for this position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing routine accounting transactions, and supporting day-to-day financial operations. This is a non-exempt, hourly position, eligible for overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Illinois labor laws.
Responsibilities
Record and maintain daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
Process invoices, payments, expense reports, and deposits in a timely and accurate manner
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
Assist with payroll processing and related reporting, as needed
Prepare routine financial reports, including income statements and account summaries
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding financial records
Support audits, tax preparation, and other financial reviews as requested
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
Effective written and verbal communication skills
