About the Role
The Senior Project Manager – Cement & Aggregates will be based in Roanoke, Virginia, supporting projects across Titan America’s operations, including our flagship Roanoke Cement Company.
This role leads the full lifecycle execution of capital projects—from feasibility through commissioning—ensuring delivery against safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives. The position operates as a key member of the Corporate Engineering team, partnering closely with Business Unit leadership, plant operations, procurement, and external engineering firms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead feasibility studies, including development of capital cost estimates, project schedules, and technical solutions that maximize return on investment
- Develop and evaluate engineering concepts; coordinate with internal teams and external consultants on detailed design and permitting activities
- Define scopes of work and supply in partnership with Corporate and Business Unit procurement teams for equipment, construction, and installation
- Evaluate vendor proposals with a focus on life cycle cost, reliability, maintainability, and total cost of ownership
- Oversee project execution, including permitting, construction, installation, commissioning, and startup
- Monitor and report on project performance (cost, schedule, quality), providing clear updates to stakeholders
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project delivery remains on track
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across capital project delivery and execution standards
- Travel across Titan America operations (~25%) to support project oversight and field execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing capital projects in heavy industrial environments (cement, aggregates, mining, or similar sectors)
Core Capabilities
- Strong understanding of industrial project delivery across multiple engineering disciplines
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar)
- Knowledge of BIM 360, Navisworks, or similar tools is a plus
- Familiarity with cement manufacturing processes, equipment, and key vendors preferred
- Experience in terminal (import/export) construction is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects independently while influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Uncompromising commitment to safety
Certifications (Preferred)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
