Overview
Tiposi, an innovator in medical device technology for stroke detection, is seeking an experienced Finance & Operations Manager to own our financial operations and help keep the business running smoothly as we push toward commercialization. This is a hands-on role at a medical device startup—you'll handle everything from QuickBooks reconciliation to investor reporting to recruiting support.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including month-end close, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements)
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to track spending against projections
- Provide financial data and insights for investor relations and fundraising activities
- Coordinate tax preparation and compliance, working with external accountants as needed
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Develop and improve internal financial controls and procedures
- Support HR and recruiting functions including payroll administration, onboarding, and candidate coordination
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years in accounting, finance, or operations roles
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and financial reporting
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced startup environment
Preferred
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Experience with due diligence processes and fundraising activities
- Familiarity with equity compensation and stock option administration
- Startup or early-stage company experience
A note regarding initial compensation:
- New hires start with a 3-6 month period as 1099 contractors at $3,000-$6,000/month based on experience.
- After this period, everyone transitions to W-2 employee status with a base salary of $64,000-$96,000.
