Tiny Treasures Early Learning Center is seeking a loving, nurturing, patient, and dependable Infant Assistant Teacher to join our growing team!
We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for working with infants and understands the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment during a child's earliest stages of development.
Our infant program serves children as young as 6 weeks old and emphasizes individualized care, meaningful relationships, consistency, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
The ideal candidate is someone who is warm, attentive, energetic, and eager to work collaboratively with our lead teachers to provide exceptional care to our youngest learners.
Key Responsibilities
Infant Care & Development
- Provide attentive, loving, and responsive care to infants ages 6 weeks and older.
- Assist with daily routines, including bottle feeding, diapering, naps, and age-appropriate activities.
- Build trusting, nurturing relationships with infants through positive interactions and individualized attention.
- Support developmental milestones through tummy time, sensory exploration, music, movement, and play-based learning.
- Follow each infant's individualized feeding, sleeping, and care schedule.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Consistently follow safe sleep practices and all applicable childcare health and safety regulations.
Classroom Support & Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Infant Teacher to implement daily activities and classroom routines.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining engaging, age-appropriate learning materials.
- Actively supervise infants and maintain awareness of each child's needs throughout the day.
- Assist with classroom organization, sanitizing toys and materials, and maintaining a clean learning environment.
- Participate in classroom observations, developmental documentation, and daily communication with families.
- Follow center policies, procedures, and New York State OCFS childcare regulations.
Family Communication
- Help maintain positive, professional relationships with families.
- Accurately document feedings, diaper changes, naps, and daily activities through our childcare communication app.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with infants.
- A genuine love for infants and a patient, nurturing demeanor.
- Understanding of infant development, safe sleep practices, and age-appropriate care.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent care.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining active supervision and attention to detail.
- Comfortable following established classroom routines and accepting guidance and feedback.
- Physically able to lift and carry infants, sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and actively participate in daily classroom activities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must meet all applicable New York State OCFS employment, background clearance, and training requirements.
Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
