Help Lead a Center Where Children, Teachers, and Families Thrive

Tiny Treasures Early Learning Center is looking for a confident, proactive, and highly organized Assistant Director who is ready to take ownership, lead by example, and help create an exceptional early learning environment.

We are a family-run early childhood education center serving approximately 110 children from infancy through age five. We take pride in combining the warmth of a close-knit community with the professionalism, structure, and high standards of an exceptional early learning program.

We are looking for more than someone who can help manage the day. We need a leader who anticipates needs, takes initiative, follows through, and confidently supports and holds others accountable.

Our ideal candidate is someone who notices what needs to be done and takes action. They are comfortable making decisions, solving problems, coaching teachers, and keeping operations organized without waiting for constant direction.

If you are a natural leader who loves early childhood education, thrives on organization, and takes pride in helping a team succeed, we would love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the Director to lead daily operations and maintain a positive, professional center culture.
  • Take initiative in identifying challenges, developing solutions, and ensuring tasks are completed.
  • Coach, mentor, and support teachers while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
  • Help establish consistency in classroom practices, staff performance, and daily operations.
  • Support staff onboarding, training, professional development, and performance feedback.
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with employees, families, and leadership.
  • Step into the Director's leadership responsibilities when needed.

Educational Quality & Classroom Support

  • Support implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Review lesson plans, conduct classroom observations, and provide meaningful coaching to teachers.
  • Help maintain high standards for classroom organization, child engagement, and learning environments.
  • Support the implementation of Frog Street Curriculum and Conscious Discipline practices.
  • Monitor classroom quality, routines, and developmental appropriateness.

Operations, Organization & Accountability

  • Assist with staffing schedules, classroom coverage, ratios, and daily operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and administrative systems.
  • Support compliance with New York State OCFS childcare regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards.
  • Help coordinate emergency drills, inspections, and ongoing center readiness.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure expectations, policies, and procedures are consistently implemented.

Technology, Communication & Marketing

  • Use technology to improve organization, communication, and administrative efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate digital records, reports, and operational documentation.
  • Maintain parent communications, social media, marketing initiatives, and community engagement.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Excel, Canva, and other digital tools to support center operations.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?

We are looking for a leader who:

  • Takes ownership. You don't wait to be told what needs attention. You recognize priorities and take action.
  • Follows through. You are dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to completing what you start.
  • Leads with confidence. You are comfortable having difficult conversations, setting expectations, and holding team members accountable.
  • Creates structure. You enjoy organizing systems, improving processes, and helping others work more effectively.
  • Builds relationships. You communicate clearly, treat people with respect, and know how to balance warmth with professionalism.
  • Solves problems. You remain calm under pressure, think critically, and bring solutions rather than simply identifying challenges.
  • Values educational excellence. You understand child development and genuinely enjoy helping teachers create meaningful learning experiences.
  • Works independently. You can manage your responsibilities, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions while keeping the Director informed.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a licensed early childhood education or childcare setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and follow through on responsibilities.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to support multiple classrooms and respond effectively to changing operational needs.
  • Ability to meet applicable New York State childcare employment and background-check requirements.
  • Knowledge of New York State OCFS childcare regulations and licensing standards.
