In addition to products, we also offer experiences for kids to be hands on with drop in projects, field trips, birthday parties and classes.
Job Responsibilities:
As a Retail Associate, you will play an integral role in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for our customers while assisting them in finding the perfect educational tools for their children or classrooms.
Key duties include:
- Customer Engagement: Greet and interact with customers to provide an outstanding shopping experience. Answer questions, offer product recommendations, and highlight the educational benefits of our products. Create a curated experience for all guests.
- Merchandising & Display Set-up: Maintain product displays, ensuring items are neatly organized and visually appealing. Assist with seasonal setups, store layout updates, and promotional displays to maximize product visibility.
- Product Knowledge: Stay knowledgeable about STEAM products and trends in educational toys, kits, and materials to offer expert guidance to customers.
- Store Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized store, including tidying shelves, sweeping floors, and ensuring all areas are welcoming and safe for customers.
- Inventory Support: Assist with restocking shelves, inventory checks, and keeping track of product levels to ensure popular items are available for customers.
- Sales & Upselling: Support in achieving sales goals by suggesting complementary products or promoting new arrivals, seasonal items, or promotions.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside other staff members to ensure smooth store operations and an excellent customer experience.
- Facilitating Small Classes or Projects for Kids:
Lead and facilitate small, hands-on STEAM-based activities and projects for children, ranging from building simple machines to creating art through science experiments.
Provide engaging, educational guidance while ensuring a fun and safe learning environment for kids.
Prepare and organize materials for class activities and assist with set-up and clean-up.
Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork among participants, while offering support and explanations during each activity.
Coordinate with store management to schedule and promote upcoming classes or workshops for families.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (or currently pursuing)
- Passion for STEAM education and learning
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience or interest in working with children in an educational setting
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Retail or customer service experience a plus, but not required
- Flexibility with hours and schedule
- Must be able to pass a background screening
