Position Overview
The company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support ongoing hard-bid commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who has foundational project experience and is ready to take the next step toward full Project Manager responsibilities.
You will gain hands-on exposure across all phases of construction, working closely with senior project managers and field leadership. This is a growth-oriented role with a clear path to Project Manager.

- Projects primarily within a 2–3 hour radius of the metro area
- Limited overnight travel (approximately once per month)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preconstruction efforts, estimating support, and subcontractor coordination
- Manage and track RFIs, submittals, schedules, and project documentation
- Support cost tracking, change orders, and financial reporting
- Participate in jobsite meetings and coordinate with field teams
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Contribute to quality control, safety compliance, and project closeout
- Support buyout and subcontractor procurement
- Continue developing toward full Project Manager responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- OR construction-related certification 2 years of experience
- OR 3 years of commercial construction experience
- Experience supporting at least one hard-bid project
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Desire to grow long-term within a General Contractor environment
- Ability to travel regionally for day trips with occasional overnight stays
