Direct Support Professional (DSP) | Community-Based Support & Job Coaching

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll help children and adults who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities participate in their communities, build life skills, maintain employment, and pursue the activities that matter most to them.
This is not a traditional caregiving role. Our DSPs spend much of their time in the community—supporting people at work, helping them access local resources, build social connections, develop independent living skills, and achieve personal goals.
What We're Looking For
TIDES LLC is seeking reliable, flexible, and motivated Direct Support Professionals who are ready to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
We are currently seeking team members who are available to work Monday through Saturday, up to 40 hours per week.
Schedules may include:
- Continuous shifts supporting multiple individuals throughout the day
- Back-to-back community-based appointments
- Split shifts with morning and evening hours
- Employment support and job coaching
- Community access and independent living support
- Weekend availability
The ideal candidate enjoys working with a variety of people, is comfortable with a flexible schedule, and is passionate about helping others succeed and thrive in their communities.
What You'll DoCommunity Living & Independence
- Support individuals with daily living skills
- Assist with shopping, groceries, errands, and appointments
- Provide transportation support (driving and public transportation)
- Support meal planning and preparation
- Assist with technology and communication skills
- Help maintain a clean and safe home environment
- Promote personal choice, independence, and self-advocacy
Community Access & Socialization
- Support participation in community activities and events
- Encourage healthy relationships and social connections
- Assist individuals in exploring hobbies and interests
- Support exercise, recreation, and wellness goals
- Help connect individuals with community resources
- Foster confidence and community inclusion
Employment & Vocational Support
- Provide on-the-job coaching and guidance
- Promote workplace success and inclusion
- Assist with communication and problem-solving
- Support workplace accessibility and accommodations
- Help individuals build and maintain employment skills

Basic Requirements
- Ability to pass a background check
- Valid Alaska Driver's License
- Reliable vehicle and current insurance
- Dependable attendance and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
