About the Role
Tidal Electrical Services, Inc. is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to help manage our payables process and maintain accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining current accounts, processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and supporting our accounting team to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Responsibilities
- Match purchase orders to invoices and enter invoices into the accounting system
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing reports to balances
- Analyze expense reports and assign charges to the proper accounts and cost centers
- Process vendor payments by verifying information, resolving discrepancies, and preparing checks or electronic payments
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements and maintain updated vendor information
- Process and verify employee expense reports and reimbursements
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
- Reconcile credit card accounts and process purchase orders for field staff
- Prepare and maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies and retention procedures
- Calculate and report sales tax on paid invoices
- Maintain confidentiality and protect company information at all times
- Continuously improve knowledge through professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting preferred (Bachelor’s degree a plus)
- 2–5 years of accounts payable experience
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and compliance requirements
- Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Strong data entry, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment
