Junior Staff Accountant (Events & Operations)
This is an hourly, non-exempt role.
Job Summary
We are conducting a search on behalf of a client to identify a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to support accounting operations across event-driven projects. This role plays a key part in managing financial transactions, supporting month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for multiple engagements.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys working cross-functionally, and can balance multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial disbursements including wires, cash requests, and payments related to project or event settlements
- Review and reconcile financial settlements immediately following project completion
- Prepare project/event profit & loss (P&L) statements and related journal entries
- Monitor financial reports for accuracy and reasonableness
- Ensure timely closure and reconciliation of projects within established timelines
- Track and process receivables, payables, and collections to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain general ledger (G/L) activity for assigned projects
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process
- Assist with financial reporting, audits, and ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with project-based or operational accounting preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (advanced Excel strongly preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle or similar) is a plus
- Project management experience is a plus

- Willingness to travel occasionally for project or on-site support
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings or weekends during peak periods such as month-end close
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple deadlines
- Positive communication style and ability to collaborate across teams
Salary : $25 - $40
