Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week
We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) in Bakersfield, California. This opportunity is ideal for experienced Emergency Department nurses who thrive in a high-volume acute care setting and are confident caring for both adult and pediatric emergency patients. The facility utilizes Cerner EMR and offers exposure to a wide variety of emergency cases in a fast-paced environment.

- Shift: Evenings/Nights | 12-Hour Shifts
- Schedule: 36 Guaranteed Hours Per Week
- Shift Start: 3:00 PM (Mid Shift Available)
- Start Date: August 03, 2026
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend / 4 Weekend Shifts Per Month
- Floating: Required to Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ER) only
- EMR System: Cerner
Requirements:
- Active California RN License
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room (ER) experience
- At least 2 years of recent ER experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required (No First-Time Travelers)
- Experience caring for both Adult and Pediatric Emergency patients
- Strong triage experience required
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current PALS Certification
- NIHSS Certification required
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and emergency response skills
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for adult and pediatric patients.
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using triage protocols.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments.
- Recognize and respond quickly to life-threatening emergencies.
- Care for patients with trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Monitor patient status and provide ongoing reassessments.
- Document patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic medical record system.
- Float to Pediatric Emergency Department as needed while practicing within competency.
- Follow all hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.
