Job Title: Corporate Accountant
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to support financial reporting, consolidation accounting, and technical accounting activities within a complex, multi-entity environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supporting internal controls and audit processes.
The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, experience in corporate or public accounting, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Consolidation Accounting
- Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and lease subledgers, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidations and intercompany eliminations
- Coordinate with subsidiaries to ensure consistent accounting policies and reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to parent or corporate entities
Technical Accounting & Compliance
- Research and analyze complex accounting issues and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and policies
- Prepare technical accounting memos and documentation
Audit & Internal Controls
- Serve as a key liaison for external auditors during annual audits
- Support and enhance internal controls and financial processes
- Partner with internal teams to strengthen governance and risk management practices
Tax & Risk Management Support
- Act as a point of contact for external tax service providers to support compliance and reporting
- Coordinate with risk management teams on financial reporting related to insurance, claims, and related matters
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience (corporate or public accounting preferred)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with financial consolidations and intercompany accounting
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent certification
- Experience in a large corporate or public accounting (Big 4) environment
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Experience with OneStream or similar consolidation/reporting tools
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query, etc.)
