The Inventory Management Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Thorne
Research Warehouse facility, ensures the following of Inventory Management departmental procedures and performs
specific duties as assigned, in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and applicable Thorne
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees day to day operations of all aspects of the Inventory Management department, including receiving, warehousing/production support, other areas of inventory control pertaining to cycle counting and work order posting as well as other inventory management functions as needed.
- Leads a high-performance team, developing and strengthening staff and providing ongoing coaching and feedback. Develops teamwork with other departments, communicates goals to the department, sets the pace and is proactive.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide ongoing written and oral direction and clarity to direct reports.
- Provides direction and guidance to Inventory Management personnel, and utilizes personnel as needed to fulfill daily departmental requirements.
- Conducts formal and informal performance assessments of staff, including performance versus expectations and goals, behaviors, and leadership potential, and seek the same for self.
- Works with the Inventory Management to ensure accurate information of Thorne inventory, including inventory integrity, cycle counts, inventory reports, inventory transfers and adjustments.
- Maintains the cleanliness and organizational structure of the Thorne Research Warehouse facility, using industrial best practices.
- Ensures adherence to all Company and OSHA safety standards.
- Assumes responsibility as a trainer of all members of Inventory Management personnel in their job duties, including Material Handlers, Material Receivers, and Production Inventory Control Analysts.
- Assists with the training and certification of all personnel operating powered industrial equipment within the Thorne facility.
- Works with Inventory Management to ensure the proper maintenance of Inventory Management equipment and, if necessary, coordinates with maintenance for repairs.
- Follows and ensures all Inventory Management personnel follows, the Standards of Conduct as outlined in the latest version of the Thorne Research Employee Handbook.
- Works with Inventory Management to ensure all necessary resources are available to meet the Inventory Management department requirements in compliance with established quality standards and goals.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide ongoing written and oral direction and clarity to Inventory Management personnel.
- Keeps the Inventory Management updated daily on the status of the warehouse facility, personnel, any other pertinent information.
- Ensures all SOP's are being properly followed.
- Helps ensure that all Inventory Management personnel have completed ETQ training requirements and attend required training sessions.
- Has sufficient knowledge of assigned department to create/review procedures in accordance with cGMP and Thorne guidelines.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Four years’ related experience and/or training is required.
- Experience using inventory management software.
- Must have sufficient data entry skills and be detail oriented to process inventory documentation.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
