What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN/LPN: FULL TIME DAY SHIFT (7a-3p) position at Thompson House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center?
Thompson House is a small, nonprofit, mission-driven rehabilitation and long-term care nursing center serving Brattleboro, Vermont and the surrounding communities.
We currently have one opening on our 7:00 AM–3:00 PM shift, including every other weekend, and we're looking for a compassionate nurse who wants to be part of a supportive, team-focused environment.
We use little to no agency staffing and believe in investing in our own team. If you're a positive, dependable nurse who values quality resident care, teamwork, infection prevention, and doing things the right way, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll do:
- Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, treatments, assessments, and monitoring
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and carry out individualized care plans
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Communicate changes in resident condition to the appropriate members of the care team
- Educate and support residents and families
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, infection prevention practices, and facility policies
What we're looking for:
- Current Vermont RN or LPN license, or eligibility for Vermont licensure
- Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and medication administration skills
- Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented
- Positive communication style and a resident-centered approach to care
