Job SummaryAs an Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial health of a program thatshapes future electricians. This position ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance withregulatory requirements while working closely with leadership and training staff to maintainorganizational integrity and achieve program goals.Key Responsibilities- Maintain general ledgers and process transactions, including monthly close- Manage accounts payable and receivable; handle vendor interactions using QuickBooks- Oversee payroll submissions to external service provider- Prepare monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations- File state excise tax returns and other regulatory reports- Improve accounting systems and internal controls- Maintain confidentiality and foster positive relationships across the organizationRequired Skills & Abilities- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to multitask- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office and Excel- Familiarity with payroll platforms and compliance software- Knowledge of non-profit accounting standards preferred- Ability to read and interpret complex agreements- Excellent communication and organizational skillsQualificationsRequired:- Associate's degree in Accounting/Business or equivalent experience- 2 years of accounting experience- Valid driver's licensePreferred:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field- CPA certification or experience in non-profit accounting
